TnC House Classics presents : Equador

Yeah, Sash was for a short time very populair, but his music style began soon to repeat itself.
And you could easily make a megamix with all the Sash hits witout knowing how many tracks were included. Èquador was one of his best, melodic, not to soft and very dancable.

There should be a megamix somewherr on yt...

TnC House Classics presents : I Remember of ...

This one is not so old school as other TnC Classics to prove I listen to more modern house music too. I Remember is a song that could fit in any Deep House / Chill Out mix. I would call it Dream House and is really an aged term these days. The female voice blend perfectly with the smooth ritmes. A great song to relax and fall asleep.

Yt vid and remixes ??,

TnC House Classics presents : Ride In The Night

Spanish guitar and a progressive house style. Nice.

TnC House Classics presents : Infinity 2009

I thought nobody could ever make a better version than the original. I was wrong. More electro, more vocals, more compressed. At least 3x better.

TnC House Classics presents : Power of American Natives

Continue with the mellow side of Tnc. I just love the combi of panflute, hypnotic bassline, the voice and the smooth synths to finish it. There are a lot of versions of the song, a sign that  lot of djs and remixers liked it too. I check if there is a MSX Moonblaster version. The videoclip fits the song like a glove, what else can I say?

No remixes on yt ?

TnC House Classics presents Marg Jane of Technohead

Busy with a shorter edit of mary jane and papier hier version , both unfinished

TnC Mixes: Red 5 Minimix

When I was trying to finish the post about "I Love You...Stop!" I wonder if anyone had made a mix of Red 5 songs and upload it to YT. If you have read that post you know the answer.
So I got the idea to make a simple mix of the 3 songs I did like from Red 5, "Da Beat Goes", "I Love You...Stop!" and "For This World".

I ripped the audio from some "official music video's" of YT and started my mix-program.
As usual, things go not the way you planned. The idea was to start off with  "F T W" ( a bit mellow), then "I L Y S" to be more uplifting and a big finish with "D B G". However that order of the songs could not be mixed nicely, even if I changed the BPM of the songs to match the fastest song. So the order became "D BG", "I L Y S" and "F T W". Well, that was not a problem, most of my MSX Moonblaster Mixes had some kind of mellow/lounge end.

So I already changed the BPM and the order of the songs and still the mix was far from finished. I let my mix program decide to match the beat (same BPM) to create smooth transitions. It matched the BPM, it was horrible to listen too. I started listening to every song from the beginning until the end and started trimming. "D B G" needed less trimming, but when I was finished with "I L Y S", it lasted no longer than 01:12 of a song 03:47 and "F T W" was after trimming more than 1 minute shorter.

Then I added my old friend 'cross-fade' to the mix, instead of any 'beat-mix xx', things were going to sound better. I mixed down the whole project and started to think about the video.
Well, first I listened to the mix and was not happy with the very short version of "I L Y S" in the mix, it was a TnC House Classics, never the less. Again, mix-program trimmed a 1-minute longer version of "I L Y S", mixed the whole thing again. Now I had 2 versions of the same mix, named "short" and "long version" and no clue which one to use in the video for YT. A couple of listens later I go for the short version.

Did I already mention the speed-up to 115% I used in both versions (after mixing)?
It did miracles for the whole mix, sounded fresher and less boring (which is the worst of my fears when I am mixing). Still, something was missing, so I fooled around with all kind of effects. By accident, I used echo and made the mix completely out of sync. However...I like how the echo sound changes the drumbeats. I split the stereo track into left and right, added a very low (0.1) echo to 1 of the channels, mixed it down as a stereo track and...

Yep, the mix is ready for the video. Mmm, not exactly, the bass in the whole mix was a bit underrated. I decided to crank it up with any effect I could use. In the end, I got the best results from the compressor effect, not any equalizer preset.
( after I finished the video I listened to whole thing and the compessor made it sound like a cärhifi system with closed doors...so I removed the compressor effect to get less bass but more cleaner sound )

Yes, we gonna make a video now. I liked the shark pictures Red 5 used for "I L Y S" sleeves for the (maxi-)single, so I used them for the opening and credits of the video. Finding a nice character set was easily done, but trying to match the Red 5 colors of the pictures was not an easy task. I ended up with red and pink, these looked not to bad.

For the video I had the idea to divide the screen into 3 parts (like the 3 songs I used), play only the music-video of the audio, while to other 2 only showing a picture of the start of the video. For this, I had to cut the music-video into the length of the audio part. Cause I had trimmed every song and speed-up it was impossible to sync the video with the audio.

Well, if you want to see the musicvideo's, you have to look somewhere else.

Next problem was I could not find how to put the music-video into my minimix video, without playing any sound. I had already converted music-video parts without audio, when I found the right switch in the video-editor.
Because the screen was divided into 3 parts, it's not easy to see, which music-video belongs to which song title. I show the song title just at the beginning of the song.

Maybe I get problems with copyrights and stuff, we will see.
I have uploaded the short and long version to SoundCloud so you can decide which one is better. Don't expect me to upload a video with the long version.
I am done and move over to my next project.

Soundcloud: Red 5 Minimix Short version
Soundcloud: Red 5 Minimix Long version

Youtube: Red 5 Minimix (MixMeister TnC)

BTW Mixcloud did not allow any file less than 12 Mb, so I uploaded to Soundcloud instead.
What a ...  rule.

TnC House Classics presents : Doop Doop - ????

Housemusic can use any other kind of music to get you moving. Even jazz, big band, or other music from more than 50 years ago, it's already done. But Doop Doop was a very succesfull cross-over between house and jazz.

Sadly the remixes are not on yt, so only my cassette versions remains.

TnC House Classics presents : Lush 3 - 1 of Orbital

I re-discovered this track of Orbital, while I was playing My Favorite Houseworks tapes via Mixcloud. Just a simple house track, with a slow spacy flute, a regular hard bassline with a simple drumbeat and speed up riff loop.

I wanted to create a video with different equalizers, but somebody posted the track Lush 3-1 track with a nice equalizer and the CD-cover as background. So I had to save this idea for another song I update some time later.

Orbital created house music with hard beats and soft melodies, so there are more tracks I liked. Also, I found out they, yes it's a duo, were reunited in 2017 and even created new single and a new album. The track of "Tiny Foldable Cities" is a nice one, check out the video. It's filmed from far above the city which totally fits with the title and the music too.

The remix by "Kareful" is just what they did with "Something Good" of the Utah Saints, just remove all breaks and make it more danceable. Well, you could also say, a bit boring to listen to.

By the way Lusus 3-1 came from the Orbital brown album with also Lush 3-2
Never knew why they gave it that title, it had not much relation with 3-1 in any way.
It's an annoying piece of ....

I found 2 remixes by other artists of Lush 3-1, the Underworld version is more Underworld than Lush, the second with the long title is just like old 12" versions, long and not much content added.

TnC House Classics presents : Something Good of Utah Saints

I can say the same things about this song as "Injected With The Poison" by Praga Kahn.

It has all the classic cliches. I saw the song on MTV, at that time they played video clips and no soaps. If you wanted to know the latest hits, you watched MTV instead of listening to boring radio stations. I love this classic because the whole song is perfectly shaped around the samples of a song by Kate Bush - Cloud Busting -

Although the video-clip was nothing more than a speed-up road trip in psychedelic colours, I loved it from the first second with the violins.

Even the 12" version, which seems only to have a longer duration than the 7" single,
is still a pleasure to listen to. And on the cd maxi single I bought was also a track about whales (Trance Atlantic Flight), and it was better than the well-known Waterfall...

When I did some research on the "Something Good", the Utah Saints released a new mix of the same some under the name "Something Good '08". They removed all breaks in the original mix and created a dancefloor killer, a 2:55 non-stop adrenaline rush. And a much better and funnier video-clip about the Running Man than the original clip.

Utah Saints more singles mixing samples from pop-songs with own beats, but I never found another "Something Good", but they made a few very enjoyable trance tracks, like "Trance Atlantic Flight", "Massive" and "Solution"

The song Utah Saints sampled for this track "Cloud Busting" has a real history.

Kate Bush had read "Book of Dreams" written by the son of Wilhelm Reich, who is famous for his discovery of Organon and his inventions to use it.

The story of Wilhelm Reich is very sad, he died in a federal prison in the 50s. The American Government put him there after they had successfully removed lots of his supporters and helpers over the years.

One of his inventions was a cloudbuster, designed to make it rain. There is one occasion in history that described what happened, cause it did rain after just
1 day of cloudbusting.

I was fascinated by his life, his words and inventions,
but after seeing and hearing all Organon related stuff
on YouTube, I believe that Mr Reich really has made
a discovery, but he could not use it to its full potential,
cause the technology was not yet invented yet.

So I do believe that things in nature have a kind of energy and maybe we can use it for more purposes
then just let it rain...

Kate Bush tells the story of Wilhelm Reich and his son with a Cloudbuster, like a fairy-tale.
It ends not well, just like the real story. Still very beautiful to watch and it started my search for Wilhelm Reich.
I found somebody who had such a nice memories of the song, almost a new story.

My Music Momories / TnC House Classics presents : Flashdance - Deep Dish

I was not sure if this song belongs to My Music Memories or TnC House Classics,
cause I never owned this track.
It is a kind of dance track, so here it is in
both series.
The track is a sort of cross-over between rock and dance, a bit repetitive and very hypnotic, the rock-riff stays in your head
for days.

The original came from the soundtrack of Flashdance (...What a feeling..) and was called "He's a dream" by Shandi Sinnamon.
I listen to it, but the whole song was ruïned
by the producers, it started okay, then in the middle...you better listen for yourself...

So Deep Disk took the best parts of the song, hired a better singer and WHAM !!!

Whole Flashdance track is
so simple, so lots of remixes made their own versions.
Most of them could not add more interesting stuff for having an excuse creating long remixes of Flashdance with a duration 9 minutes or longer.
But some remixes are not bad at all, check these out.
There was a DJ Sultan who made an interesting cross-over remix with Money for Nothing of Dire Straits and Flashdance of Deep Dish, called "Flash for Nothing"

Lately, I was searching for Icebaer remixes and a guy called Sim0ne remixed it just in the style of Deep Fish Flashdance, but more monotone.

TnC House Classics presents : I Love You... Stop! - Red 5

In my opinion Red 5 had only 3 hits, `I Love You... Stop´, ´Da Beat Goes` and 'For This World'

I choose for "I Love You... Stop", because of the female voice and the nice picked violin sounds, the trademark of Red 5
(I assumed). But if you use the same trick 3 times...after that I heard nothing special from them.

Red 5 made lots of other songs (see list below), but only the 3 tracks I mentioned earlier are special. Still, I like this song, easy to humm or whistle.

Some made a megamix of all their hits, but the ones I find on YT were just not worthy to link to. I found out Red 5 was just another alias of Thomas Kukula

Maybe you know him better as General Base, another alias.
The red shark was the trademark of all Red 5 releases.

  • 1997: Red 5 - I Love You... Stop!
  • 1998: Red 5 - Lift Me Up
  • 1998: Red 5 - Deeper Love
  • 1998: Red 5 - Da Beat Goes
  • 1998: Red 5 - Fiesta Fiesta
  • 1998: Red 5 - Gimme Luv
  • 2000: DJ Red 5 - Que Pasa
  • 2001: DJ Red 5 - Rhythm & Drums 2001 ft. DJs@Work

TnC House Classics presents : 2 Times from Ann Lee

Another mellow track from long ago. There were a lot of songs in that period (1999), made by the same receipe, like 2 Times

Easy to sing-a-long, sang by a beautiful young female singer and a slow housebeat. So I easily could suggest King of my castle, or Saturday night, or Feel what you want to feel and many others.

I choose 2 Times, because I hear the fun the female singer had during the recording of the song.  Some songs are perfectly sang, but was there a computer to help out ? And I don't like Barbies singing, like in the group Aqua
Do I need to explain more ?

Then I leave you with some remixes: Italo , Vavva   Ecstasy G  and Sunloverz

TnC House Classics presents : Beachball from Nalin & Kane

Until now the serie of TnC House Classics contains mostly techno orientated housemusic, but TnC likes also ambient, mellow or deep house ( as its called nowadays ).

So here is Beachball from Nalin & Kane, a very simple even monotone track, but it has such a hypnotic bassline a ritme I couldnt get it out of my head for days.

Of course there are a lot of remixes or remakes made that were superior to the original, but I like the original too. Ideal for humming while cruising in a cabrio along the seashore.

I could go searching forever, it's time to stop here...

TnC House Classics presents : Sunstroke of Chicane

Another mellow dream deep house track favorite by TnC. Chicane made very mellow mostly instrumental housemusic and all songs had that summerfeeling, ideal for beachparties.

I found an DJ who made 2 megamixes as a tribute to Chicane,  but personaly I liked
DJ Rivers other ambient mixes, these aremore interesting. Too much Chicane can kill your good mood. Check them out as long as the website of DJ River is hosted, cause it's not updated since 2014.

Here is the Sunstroke video

His first hit Offshore

I tried hard to find a real good remix, but the only good remix is from the master himself, check out the longer version.

It seems remixers couldnt improve the original.

TnC House Classics presents : Swamp Thing by The Grid

When housemusic became populair, everybody tried to find a next gimmick to make easy money . So for a short period of time country music with a housebeat was the top, with hits like  "Cotton Eye Joe" and "Swamp Thing". But The Grid had already several hits on its list and this was just one ot them.

When I listen to it now, it seams too repeat itself too often and the duration should be half of what it is now.
Still the banjo riff is catchy and thats the best part of the song, the rest of it is more filling , like the bridge part in "Acid Folk".

"Swamp Thing"is an exellent song to mashup I would say (for maybe an hour ???)

PS: The followup of "Swamp Thing" was a re-release of "Texas Cowboys", a piece of crap. The country theme is there, it  "Swap Thing" with the banjo replaced by a mouth-organ and the DJ replaced by a bad singer, argh !!!

TnC House Classics presents : Don't You Want Me / Dont You Want My Love - Felix

Of course should this one be included in the TnC House Classics. I remember I was speechless when I heard the song for the first time as intro on Impact's Housedisk 1.

The version of Impact was for Music Module (MSX-AUDIO ) so I tried to create a MSX-STEREO version in Moonblaster.

A slighly modified version with a sort of videoclip you can find on YouTube with the name 2 Felix (after the name of the original artist).

I used it also in the Moonblaster Housemix Between Good and Bad Gabbaheads.
Why is the song so populair ? I have never heard any organ like that and the sample was used in many other housemusic productions...even today...

Felix had a 2nd hit called It Makes Me Crazy, less sucessfull, but still a great song with another hypnotic riff that stays long in your head once you heard it.
Lucky for me it was also made for Moonblaster by Silence so I used it in my Moonblaster Housemix Cryognity Makes Me Crazy

I only included the original videoclips here, cause I don't want to waste time searching for specials, when the originals are special enough.

Here I found some interesting info about Felix. But what are you waiting for ? Get that Impact's Housedisk 1 and play it loud on your MSX-2 !

TnC House Classics presents : Open Your Mind

There are so many versions of this classics, but this original can still compete against them.
It´s really hypnotizing song that stays in your head for a very long time once you heard it.
The breaks, the samples, the main loop, everything is in place.

But then I read the comments on YouTube, it's just a speedup version of the Simple Minds song "New Gold Dream" !!!  Yes, really !!!

And the sample came from the first  "Total Recall" with Arnold Shwarzenegger.

The video is also special, seeing miss Thatcher morphing into mr. Stalin. and back...

Cant fight it,  I want more U.S.U.R.A.
And more....

Ok that's enough for now, bye !

TnC House Classics presents : Is There Anybody Out There ?

When housemusic started, there were producers that just put some synths, some housebeat, a rapper and a lot of samples together and called it housemusic.

Most of that stuff in the early 90s sounds nowaday sooo old, but this one of The Bassheads is a long time favorite of mine.

And yes, "Is There Anybody Out There" has that old school formula for making
house music...
Somehow I still like it, it just fits and the changes in the track are very enjoyable.

Wanna hear more, here is the Extended and the Non Verbal Communication goes were Extended stops, with great use of panflutes and whale sounds ???

PS1: I tried to copy the piano riffs in FAC Soundtracker for use in my own house-track
"No-Acid part 3", but I failed.

PS2: What happened to "part 1" and "part 2" ? Well, they were never finished, but parts were all re-used in "part 3"

PS3: In a desperate attempt to finish it, I converted the FAC Soundtracker song to Magic Music Module, added some effects and created a very simple animated demo for it, called...

PS4: In the profile of Zooitroep you can see a glimp of that "No Acid" demo, maybe the only MMM demo every made...

My Music Memories : Nightmare ( Happy Halloween )

If you have a Halloween house-party than this track is a most.
Show the videoclip on a widescreen and you have a great time.
The combi of the creepy bells and the sinister violins is really spooky.

Other Brainbug releases are more of the same
Lots of violins, but not another "Nightmare".

When I first hear this track on a Trancemaster compilation, I knew this was the best track mixing house with horror.
