Battle of the Bands mashup kaene

Battle of the band mashup of country latin and hiphop together in same videoclip with 3 different color filters , not easy to sync exactly the audio, sync the video was worse. My editor could play in sync but could not produce the video. So i needed a screengrabber to get a proper video. There are a lot more mashups to be made, but i dont know which ones will be good enough to mashup. It not easy to get the volumes for each side, left ,right, middle cause some genres are louder than others.

Publiahed on yt if you can stil find it (copyright strike on video or audio)

Other music stuff : Thomas Happ vs Sub Morphine - Trace Awakens at the Shoreline (Mashup)

I am proud to present to you Trace Awakens at the Shoreline, the first mashup made by my son Jeffrey (aka King ECHatron II)
He likes electtonic music in general, but does not think in any genres. So he can enjoy retro-rock like Wolfmother and like older stuff like Rob Zombie. Enough said.

The way he created this mashup is really special. He played a great side scroll shooter called Axion Verge with some great music and relased that one song had the same bassline as a beautiful song he found on YT channel of Electronic Gems of Sub Morphine.

And he decided to mashup these, cause even the BPM matched.

He started his Audacity editor, cut and paste a little, added a fade out, 1 song was longer than the other....and wham... a new mashup was born.
Maybe even creating a new music genre, it is Dark Synth Wave versus Chillwave.
Or Chillout vs Industrial...

Jeffrey created a new title and artists names out of both tracks and send it to me by Skype.
I think it's an amazing track that you won't forget.

Also I was amazed how he could create such a good mashup by simply using Audacity, which is not the easiest program to create multi-track music.

I decided to create a videomix of it, with some gameplay from Axion Verge and the logos of the game Axion Verge and that other composer Sub Morphine.
Tried to keep it simple, I had to use 5 different video-editor, before I could produce the video.with VSDC free video-edotor and upload the result to YouTube.

I forgot the link to VSDC free editor at YouTube, so I put it with the link for Audacity
in this post and update YT description.

- Mixed/Produced by Audacity Download it for free at https://www.audacityteam.org/download/

- Video produced with VSDC Video Editor: Downlosd it for free at: http://www.videosoftdev.com/free-video-editor/download

TnC Internet Adventures : 8Bit-Guy / 8Bit-Keys

This is a YouTuber I am so happy to find by accident. Just searching on YT for Philips MSX keyboard belonging to the Music Creator package for the Music Module I found a guy talking about Meow keyboard, yes you heard it right , a keyboard where you can play a song like a cat , meow songs .It was 8-Bit Keys that demonstrate it and was also a bit exited about this curious thing. Well, other vids about repairing/restoring old keyboard are not that interesting, but I found the same guy has another YT-channel called 8Bit-Guy.

Again repairing / restoring, this time computers. But with a few suprises like this serie
I found, about how old games were made. Very interesting even nothing is told about MSX, only "those" other computers of Nintend, Atari, Apple and Commodore.

And more technical stuff like about bad VHS tapes (or not).

"Deep State" Theme Music - Dan Berridge (Fox TV series)

Sometimes you see a trailer on TV and you think, not too bad, another James Bond clone, whose family is being kidnapped and he had to kill someone for the last time.
But after seeing episode 4 (Reunion, I missed the first 3) you know its more than just an old secret agent trying to stay alive and rescue his family.

It's also about powerful people in any secret service, who have the power to change anything if they want if they get enough money to do so and let others take the blame or say its for the best of their country.

For the intro, Dan Berridge made a really haunted version of the intro of "Once In A Lifetime" by the Simple Minds. I recorded by hand the intro with Dutch subtitles from the Fox TV, cause that intro shows really what the series is all about. Not another Rambo action series (like all official trailers of Fox networks), but this intro let you think about what happened behind the news of today. Is the news not manipulated by any secret action of any security agents?

And why did Fox TV choose the "Once In A Lifetime" song for Deep State?
I made me wonder why Swedemason took the song, speeches of president Trump and mixed them together.
Want more Deep State conspiracy theories, here it is.
If you just want to know more about this TV serie, check out the offical website.
Very stylish, just like the intro I recorded.

TnC Internet Adventures: Lord Music Academy & Lord Vinheteiro

Lord Vinheteiro is a Brazilian piano-player who can play almost everything from Bach to Lady Gaga. He has very original ideas for his videos and has interesting things to say.
Lord Music Academy is the more serious YouTube channel, mostly in Portuguese so translation in English is very handy. The Vinheteiro channel is the more fun channel with lots of music and some English comments. He wants to show his public that classical music is not boring at all and he proved it with lots of humor.

For example try: How To Destroy Classical Music 1 and 2.
The interaction between the pianist and the drummer staring at you is a must-see.

I always look forward to the next video he uploads, cause every time he comes with a new fresh idea in which he can perform his piano skills.

More examples coming up:
- 13 Types of Pianists
- How To Make Girls Fall in Love with Music
- Happy Songs in Sad Versions
- Evolution of Music (1680 AD - 2017)

Dutch Boogie Woogie pianists versus Fireworks

Recently I was watching how my son played games where the music determines the difficulty of the gameplay. I am talking about "Riff Racer" and "Beat Hazard"

And I wonder how difficult the gameplay will be if you don't use the regular hard rock, metal, techno, dubstep, hardstyle, etc etc
but music from games that use a different kind of music.

For example, I played a PC Pinball Game with Boogie Woogie music.

What if you play "Riff Racer"
or "Beat Hazard" with a Boogie Woogie song?

Then I remembered my sister had once a 7" single of a Dutch Boogie Woogie pianist with a famous children song
"De uil zat in de olmen" and I search on YT for names and songs. As it turned out, there are two famous Dutch Boogie Woogie pianists, Rob Hoeke and Jaap Dekker
I could not find "De uil", I am pretty sure it was Jaap Dekker who played it.
Never mind, I found other Boogie Woogie songs on YT and made a short playlist of these.

Note: For Boogie Woogie music you need a piano, bass, and drums. It's a kind of rock n roll, rockabilly, blues all into one piano. If you want to learn, try this.

PS:
On Fireworks 2 and 3 musicdiscs of the MSX club MCD, I found 2 short Boogie Woogie shortof songs. Check out Pub Boogie 3 and 2 Thanks to FRANK MSX DEMOS FOR YOU AND ME for uploading this.

Best wishes for 2018 to you all !!!

Biscaya - James Last - TnC Instrumentals

I just hate any song with accordion. It is the musical instrument only made for playing songs only drunken people would sing along. And the famous arranger/orchestra-leader James Last creates a song with a leading role for the accordion, "Biscaya."

It is a great song for playing at sunsets. James Last was very popular in The Netherlands and he gave a lot of concerts there. He also released a couple of arranged Dutch children songs, which made him even more popular.

He released countless albums in the 60s and 70s, mostly arranged versions of famous pop songs but also classical music or film music. "Biscaya" is no cover and it made me sad he didn't write more original stuff. I guess he didn't have the time for it.

According to wiki James Last wrote a couple more songs, some recorded by famous artists.
Well, check the wiki for more info.

Here is The Best of James Last and here is another one
it's a matter of taste, I guess. To be honest, I really don't like most of the music he made,
it reminds me too much of German Octoberfests. I guess I had to be drunk to like this kind of part band music for more than 4 minutes.

Despite all this, I enjoyed "The Seduction" and "The Lost Shepard" too.

James Last is no longer on this earth, but his legacy is enormous.
Have a listen to "Biscaya"

Dicte Intro ( Dragonborn feat. Jacob Bellens - The Words )

Those Scandinavian countries know how to make a serie of  detectives, where there is a main story (about all people involved) and story/stories about crimes other people commited.

Just like "The Bridge" is "Dicte" a woman the main character, but this time not a police woman, but a reporter.

She's not so tough and had to be rescued now and then by Wagner and his partner, she is very nosy, makes mistakes and doesnt rest until she know the truth. I watched earlier this year season 1 and 2 (the makers just kept counting the episodes, not seasons) and was so happy I could see season 3 this month. Some characters disappered, others came, but Dicte and her family stays. In every season all stories are cut in 2 episodes and every time they manage to put in the end of each episode a cliff-hanger, so you cant stop watching, until...the season ends.

To be honest, season 1 and 2 has not many changes in the cast, in season 3 there are almost too many. Sadly Wagner and his partner are only seeen in the first episodes. The interaction between Wagner, his female partner and Dicte is very enjoyable.

I forgot this post was made because of the new wave music you heard in the intro of Dicte (sometimes in the outtro too). It's called "The Words" from Dragonborn
feat. Jacob Bellens.

It was easy to find the complete song on YouTube and what a great dissapointment it was.

The creators of Dicte used only 1 refrein and edited it at the begin and ending. And I knew why. Jacob Bellens maybe be a good singer, but not in this sing.
Also the song "The Words" is totally broken, no good intro, no good melodies and no good ending. It's a mess. If I was the manager of Dragonborn, I re-recorded the song with the sound-editor of Dicte as producer.

Enjoy the intro and forget the whole song and his performers...

Sint 2017: Satanklaas trailer for Sint/Saint horror-movie

Of course I am too late. Damn this shit. Sinterklaas evening was on the 5th of December. For those who don't know Sinterklaas, there is also wiki to help you out. But I don't want to post about Sinterklaas parties, but about a very bad Dutch horror-movie Sint, which does the complete the opposit, a Sint slaughter party.

Is it a good movie?
You have seen all the scary parts too many time in other movies

and the script is not really good.

So why I liked it?
I like the idea of a zombie Sint, the setting where the film takes place, yes Amsterdam again, and the Dutch humor in the dialogs and the whole movie.

When you have seen the trailer, you have seen almost half the movie, and here comes the reason I want to post this. The music in the film and in the trailer are so easy to forgot, another thumbsdown. However some inspired YouTuber took the (Dutch) trailer of Sint (Saint for the rest of the world), replace the violins and the singing child with a metal parodie on the first modern Sinterklaas song, originally from Henk & Henk, now performed by Henk samen met Goddess of Desire.

It's called: "Satansklaas, je kent hem wel". I just wanna say, better one bad Sinterklaas metal song, than 10 children’s choirs singing Sinterklaas stuff.

I had an idea to subtitle this clip with English lyrics, but then I had to re-upload it.
Too much work. So here are the lyrics in Dutch and English (sort of - powered by Bing -).

SATANKLAAS, JE KENT HEM WEL (DUTCH) SATANKLAAS, YOU KNOW HIM (ENGLISH)

Godverdekut! Damnthisshit!

My Music Memories: My Doorbell of The White Stripes

It took me a lot of time to post something new. But here it is now.
It's not I don' t like Blogging anymore. I just had a lot of stuff made (and ready to blog about) and I couldn't finish it.
I was still not happy with the end-result. This post was one of the few things that were really finished and I will blog about it now.

I was searching for audio for a song of Bob Fosko "Me vader is behanger" for another project I was working on. Bob Fosko was also heard in an MSX sample of "De Kuil" , see Soundz & DemoZ part 5. Then I found a blog called "Pindakaas" with the original audio, strangely not from YouTube. I consider to post the complete song on YouTube, some day.
Anyway, that blog had only music from YouTube and other sources, without any comments.
In fact, most of the time comments are disabled.
Mmm, why. Don't you want any feedback? Good or bad?

Okay, one of the songs I listened to was this one "My Doorbell". I listened to it, because it was a funny title, a song about a doorbell. And it was. You hear only drums, a keyboard and a singer, boy what a funky tune this is. Of course, I started browsing for more White Stripes on YouTube and after I listened to their most popular songs I had to admin,

I never am a fan. In fact, I believe "My Doorbell" was the most commercial song they ever recorded. Who is they? The White Stripes? I could write the same things that wiki already did, so I only say that Jack White never played the same song the same way and I think Megan White struggled more and more to keep up with Jack. Being a drummer is not easy if the singer and guitar/keyboard player goes freestyle during each song.

Did I tell I only liked "My Doorbell" ? No ? That's true, I found a live recording of an alternative blues song "Ball and Biscuit" and it was the best blues song I heard for years.
Raw guitar riffs, steady drums.

BTW I could help creating a little meme with "My Doorbell"
Sorry for that!

Of course, there are covers of "My Doorbell", like from these "two losers"
( well, Josh Mullen did 51 other covers of famous songs, and all were not bad at all ).
But the best version of "My Doorbell" is the live version of The White Stripes featuring Jools Holland on piano and Jack White on distorted guitar.
It's really something else.

My Music Memories: Bleed of Timmy Trumpet & SCNDL (Monstercat)

When you get older your music taste seems a bit rusty, you like music from a certain decade. For me, it's the 1980's and the 1990's.

So if you son or daughter is listening to music, you probably dislike it, cause it's in your ears out of sync, too loud or something else.

However sometimes old tunes could be new favorites of your next generation.
And sometimes it's time to make new musical memories.

I posted earlier about my Monstercat favs and before I found out to create playlists on YouTube. I downloaded some music video's from YouTube months ago. Like this one.
Recently I downloaded some anti-stress exercises on an old USB-stick of 512 Mb and
when I was browsing through all my downloads I found a couple of Monstercat songs

I listened and I could not help my self, liking this one "Bleed" is a very simple song.
You just take a short trumpet loop, a drum-computer and somebody who is clearing
his throat (or Bert of Sesamstraat is laughing).
Put it all together in the default Monstercat style and...voila...

Monstercat described the music style as BOUNCE, I think it' s another glitch-hop or dub-step clone. A very funny one.

TnC versus MMM Free

Magic Music Maker is a music composing program of the company Magix since the 90s and in that era I bought Magix Music Maker Video Jam and Magix MP3 Maker.

Both programs where user-friendly, though I never liked Video Jam. There were some different music-genres to choose from, only 1 or 2 had nice samples to play with. The Video Jam was more fun with short clips of people doing something off beat. While I tried a couple of times to create some tracks, I never saved those attempts. So it wasnt worth to preserve it for the future.

I used Magix MP3 Maker for converting wav-files of ripped music-CDs, at that time there were no free mp3-convertors. It had a good graphical interface, I just wanted a fast convertor. However it had 1 very nice feature, it could speedup and convert at the same time, without changing the pitch.

Enough history.

I stumbled into Magix Music Maker again via an add somewhere and this time there was a Free Version ! I installed it asap and started dragging and dropping from the soundpool.

At first I had only tracks from 30 seconds, later I noticed how to create longer ones. In one afternoon I created 8 different songs and a couple of early tries, still too good to delete. A very nice feature of the new Free Version of Magix Music Maker is the loopfunction, which is on by default. That means you can easlily created looped songs for mainmenu's in games.
In fact all songs I created can be looped and with my trusted Audacity I did, cause I was convinced that 30 seconds is very short for Soundcloud.

Of course the Free Version has lot of features disabled (cant create video's) but it had a lot of good sounding samples in the standard Music Pool. You have to buy more Music Pool packages if you want to create other music styles. I didnt, I'm still happy with the default samples I got with the Free Version.

Try it yourself by downloading the Magix Music Maker Free, from the original site.
And here you find my attempts for creating music with this Free program.

But beware...you cannot use the songs commercial, if you use these loops of Magix.
For more info this page.

Lucky for me, I am such a bad composer
I will never create any money from these tracks I made...
Here you see a track I have been working on lately.

Other Music Stuff: Ladies First (TnC Tapes)

I had enough of all dance/house music so I searched in my old Tape Collection for a bit of less electronic music. Found: the Ladies First tapes.

Four tapes full of female singers in different genres, like grunge, trip hop, rock, pop-rock, pop and down-tempo. No idea which artists or which songs were on the tapes (probably I had noted only the tracknumber of each album on a piece of paper in the original tape-box).

So I listened to each converted tape and listen to the lyrics to find the title. It was very time consuming and I was also not happy about the audio quality. First I normalized the volume and it sounded like playing a CD under a woollen blanket. So I cranked it up with a compressor in Audacity.

The result was: the volume and stereo sounds got maximized and sometimes even clipping. However I decided to keep it this way, raw sounds fits the music and after all...it's still a ferro tape conversion with it's limitations.

Before I started uploading it to Mixcloud (without tracklistings, cause I was afraid Mixcloud would banned it if the same artist is more than 2 times in each tracklisting), I had an idea to create an image for each tape, with pictures of the albums of the artists on each tape. Photoscape  had the perfect solution for this, called "Page" and within 15 minutes I had created the 6 pictures for these Ladies First tape sides.

Here is the link to first tape. In total there are 6 sides to listen too. Have fun, I hope you enjoy to listen to this 90s music as much as I did, when I tried to find the title of each track.
The Ladies First collection contains following artists (in random order):  Alannah Myles, Zoë, Sass Jordan, Madonna, Ruby, Natalie Imbruglia, Meredith Brooks, Alanis Morisette, Niagara, Portishead and Garbage.

I posted more tapes on Mixcloud, check this page.

Shooting Stars by Bag Raiders

This song came to my attention when I watched with my son an endless series of memes on YouTube. I didn't know what memes are, but it's mostly a short video with a duration of less than 1 minute, that should be funny. In lots of those memes, the original audio is replaced with some music. So when I watched the funny "Fat man does amazing dive"

I just liked the music very much, which was "Shooting Stars" by the Bag Raiders   . from 2009 !! And the original video clip in Synthwave style (=80s style) is very enjoyable.

The original song seems to have 2 different parts that glued together by the 2 guys from Bad Raiders and not very good.
Part 1 was a bit sad and part 2 very happy.
So I had a plan to break down part 1 and 2, so you would here the refrain (part 2) more often and make the couplets of part 1 less monotone.

I made some preparations with Audacity, but then I started to search for remixes/mashups and this (Sol James Remix) seems to have the same idea and more, so I stopped with my own "radio edit".

However, I found lots of remixes/mashups and memes from 2017 !! So after 8 years, the song is still very much alive on YouTube.
Of course lots of rubbish, stolen ideas and failed trap music attempts, these below are my favorites that are in my opinion much better than the original.

Best Mashups:
Bag Raiders Vs. Amy Meredith - Shooting Stars (Double Trouble Mash Up) - YouTube
Smash Mouth - Shooting All Star - YouTube

Best Remixes:
Bag Raiders - Shooting Stars (POOLCLVB cover) | Deep'Paradise - YouTube
[Melodic Dubstep] | Bag Raiders - Shooting Stars [Refract Bootleg] - YouTube
Bag Raiders - Shooting Stars (Elephante Cover) [Premiere] - YouTube
Bag Raiders - Shooting Stars (Sol James Remix) - YouTube

Good remix, but when Kuba Te sings, it's awful:

Bag Raiders - Shooting Stars (Kuba Te Remix) - YouTube

Just like the original but the colors and the road follows the music awesome.

Bag Raiders - Shooting Stars ft. Rhys (Audiosurf Video Remix) - YouTube

Hollow Talk - Choir of Young Believers (The Bridge Opening/Closing Theme)

Recently I watched not only 2 "Death In Paradise" seasons, but also 3 seasons of "The Bridge" ( or should I say "Bron/Broen" ). They are very different from eachother, however my wife and I liked to watch both mixed up on our TV. The dark "Bridge" with the funny "Death" made our TV evenings very enjoyable.

Note: I watched the original 3 seasons from Denmark/Sweden, not any remake. I never liked detectives that need 10 episode to tell a story. But in any season of "The Bridge" every episode reveals part of the solution and leave you with new questions. That is impressive story-telling. Ofcourse the main-actors Saga, Martin and Hendrik play their roles amazingly true and you could believe they are real people in a real-life serie. It's not my intension to tell you what happened in Season 1,2 and 3, but I will give you a brief description.
Season 1: Saga and Martin work together against a serial killer, who turns out to be a ex-collega of Martin.
Season 2: Saga and Martin work again together again a eco-terrorist group, Martin gets arrested after murdering his ex-collega.
Season 3: Saga and her new partner Hendrik work together against a serial killer, who wants to destroy his family and everybody around it. In the end both dont work for the police anymore.

Not only the script, the actors, etc are excellent, the Opening and Closing Theme is really a tune you wont forget. It starts slowly and fits in the dark adventures of Saga and her partners. Then all at once at the end of each episode the second part of the song hits you like a hammer (and you have to adjust the volume of your TV).

The song is called Hollow Talk from Choir of Young Believers , I listened to the original on YouTube, but I believe the edited (shorter) version used in The Bridge is much better.
So I search for an ending with good audio, here is the ending of the final episode of season 2, when Martin got arrested. Check it out, and you know why "The Bridge" is such a great detective serie.

In November 2016 they started with season 4, the last season. Martin, Saga and Hendrik will be present, but we have to wait until in 2018 the serie can be seen.

Finally, even the car of Saga is as famous as the actors, an old Porsche 911.
There were plenty discussions about which model was used in "The Bridge" (all 3 seasons).

Try to watch this serie, if you like detectives, this is the real thing.

You're Wondering Why - Magnus Fiennes (Death In Paradise Opening Theme)

Now it's time for a feelgood song !!!

I already explained on YouTube why I created not a 10h version, So I will only say something about the serie itself.

Its basicly every time the same thing, on a tropical island there is a murder commited and in the end all suspects are gathered by the English inspector and this local team and the murderer is revealed.
I saw only Season 1 and 2 with Ben Miller and Sara Martins, they were a perfect team cause they were totally different characters and it shows in every Episode.
Sadly Ben Miller left in Season 3 (he was killed in the 1st episode).

Kris Marshall came along to solved it and stayed in the serie until in Season 6 Episode 6 he decided to stayed in London, so the other 2 Episodes of Season 6 were made with Ardal O'Hanion.

More changes were made, in Season 4 Episode 4 Sara Martins was replaced by Joséphine Jobert. She will be in Season 7 also I guess, together with Ardal O'Hanion.

Of course the local police officiers must be changed to, the younger Gary Carr was replaced by Tobi Bakare in Season 4 Episode 1.
Well I hope all those changes didnt effect the serie, meanwhile I have only good memories of Season 1 and 2.

I borrowed the pics from DVD boxes and the music from a YouTube clip of 45 seconds.
Then I started cutting and pasting with Audacity, until I had repeated the music 6 times.
I tried to start change the picture of the season everytime the music changes, but that didnt work very well.

When published the video on YouTube, I had an idea to create maybe a better long version (better loop) so I started my Audacity and start cutting and pasting. The result was just as good as I expected so I decided to upload it to Soundcloud.

Soundcloud responded direct and the audio was removed due to copyright issues with Sony. I Googled and found out there was a CD released in 2011 by Sony with the theme song of Death In Paradise by Magnus Fiennes.

So I decided to upload it to my Mediafire and Pcloud if you want to hear an alternative long version.

BTW I found some interesting links I will share with you:
* Death In Paradise  - The Soundtrack
* Magnus Fiennes - The Composer/Cover Artist
* Death In Paradise Wiki - All you need to know

Or you can search at the BBC for short clips of each episode

My Music Memories: The Hedgehog's Dilemma of 8bit bEtty

I post this song earlier on my Facebook (I forgot) and when I was looking to the video's ZooiTroep liked, I found this one again. It's a really sad song about 2 people, both too shy to talk to each other. Yeah, I'm still sky and doesn't like crowds full of people I don't know. I don't like being in the spotlights and when I had to talk in public I am still blushing.

Now something about the music, 8bit bEtty uses sounds MSX-ers are very familiar with, I am talking about the standard sound chip PSG. That's not all, he also uses male and female robotical voices (sort of text 2 speech) and let them sing along.
It's really impressive and it makes the difference between other chiptune or bitpop artists.

This song "The Hedgehog's Dilemma" comes from the album "Fake the Bitters" and you can still buy it on bandcamp.com.

I must say not all the songs are great, but you must listen the whole album for yourself to judge. And here comes the sad part, after the album "Fake The Bitters" 8bit bEtty stopped publishing.

According to his latest tweets he is in the game-industry.
However I guess he uses an other alias then 8bit bEtty here.

Here the link to the album: "Fake the bitters" to listen.
If you move your mouse pointer over the titles you can click on lyrics too.

But for this track "The Hedgehog's Dilemma" I make an exception, here are the lyrics:

I am just a shy girl at heart
I wish I could say hi to you
why am I alone again tonight
when I am in a city filled with possibilities

I am just a shy boy at heart
and I know you expect me to say hi to you
I guess I'm afraid of what you'll say
so I guess I will read another book tonight by myself

And sometimes I wish things weren't this way
that I could change
but then I'd lose a sense of myself
Oh what a shame

I am always the girl alone at the show
I start to sweat when you say hello
I will make a reservation for one
I don't think that eating alone is fun

And sometimes I wish things weren't this way
that I could change
but then I'd lose a sense of myself
Oh what a shame

Someday I will find someone shy just like me
Someday I will find someone shy just like me
Someday I will find someone shy just like me
Someday
Someday

Someone shy just like you

Note:
About the title, here is a short explanation from YouTube user: my name is.
"the hedgehog's dilemma actually a metaphor . like, when it's cold, hedgehogs would like to cuddle but they kinda cant bc theyll hurt each other."
