TnC Collected works : TnC SoundZ & DemoZ Disk Part 1

This year I started a new collection, called the Soundz & DemoZ Disk Collection.
It's has the same menu as the ToolZ & DemoZ Disks (the text is in different colours) and will contain everything I made (or helped with) for MSX,  related to noise and music.
That's why you hear in the menu a soundeffect and any demo has now some sounds too.

Every Part will be named after the mainpart on the disk.
Part 1 is called "The HaaiDemo Edition". Hereby some more info about what's on thise dfisk.

On the right a screenshot from that demo. I didnt created those pictures full of Dutch shark jokes (Haai = shark), but I made the title screen and the main demo program. I didnt make those screenwipes too, I somehow tuned it to make the wipes a bit faster. Better listen with your speakers on low volume, some wipes takes some time and the noises can be really annoying after a while.

On the left a sort of mozaik generator for MSX-1.
There is some colorspill, here it makes the generated GFX only better and I added some sounds.
On SCREEN 5 it will generate a bit faster (or with KUN-Basic compiler), but I wanted to prove to myself that MSX-1 can generate nice random GFX too.

Next we have the DUST IN THE WIND collection of EMP-Soft.
Of course made by Elko Duijm original, but the FM-version seem a bit boring, so I created the Mad PK Version.
In that version I added a extra voice-channel to the original with specially selected Instruments. I believe Elko liked and hated some of them, to me I succeed in making it less monotoon. The PSG-version with strange combinations of
the S and M parameters of the PLAY command and was translated into German, still don't know why...

Last and least is my attempt to create some original MSX-2 Demo in MSX-Basic It has only 5 parts, mostly modified listings from K&K of MCM. However the introscreen was completly made by me. The sounds were already added in the 2nd version of the demo, so I changed nothing when I included it on this disk.

Now its time to say sorry. I lost my Pcloud account, cause it was linked to a mailaddress, which is now out of order. So all recent files are only available via Mediafire, I guess.

I created a new one a Pcloud so here are the links: Mediafire / Pcloud

My Music Memories: Monstercat Favs

Well, this is a memory from not long ago.

In 2015 I learned (via my son) that the hottest music used in countless YouTube videos, RoBlox games, etc etc came from Monstercat.

A music label, specialized in Trap, Dubstep, Electro, Nu-Disco, Glitch-Hop, DnB and more I forgot.

Their logo is very famous and there were lots of Monstercat logos to choose from, I choose this one above, because I like the colours and the semi chaotic style. Below you see an other logo, my son used it as background on his desktop PC for more than a year.

Monstercat became hot in 2013 (I think), but back in 2015 I discovered and learned to like Trap, Glitch-Hop and Dubstep of Monstercat artists.
So instead of downloading all tracks separately or download only the mixes, I decided to create some YouTube playlists.
I made a rather larger one (154 videos) and a shorter one (37 tracks).
Hope you enjoy these tracks, mostly instrumental but some have nice vocals too.

In 2016 the hype seemed to go away and I got back to the music I listened already for years at mix.dj, like Progressive Trance, Deep-House and Techno variations.
Until at the end of 2016 I discovered a new music-style, but that's for another post...

112 MSX Basic games presents: 112-MENU.BAS (games 99 - 79)

There is no better way to start my blog in the new year, with the next 112 MSX Basic games selection on disk. This time all the games from 99 until 79:

99)    DIPSHIT.GAM
98)    HEXAPION.GAM
97)    MOSQUITO.GAM
96)    SLOPSLAP.GAM
95)    DUCKSHOT.GAM
94)    SUPERLA.GAM
93)    CRAZY-G.GAM
92)    CAVERN.GAM
91)    JACKJUMP.GAM
90)    THELIFT.GAM
89)    KARATE.GAM
88)    KLEIDUIF.GAM
87)    UNTIL-0.GAM
86)    ASTRO.GAM
85)    CLOWN.GAM
84)    HORROR.GAM
83)    SUMITUP.GAM
82)    NED-HELI.GAM
81)    TRADER.GAM
80)    STARJET.GAM
79)    THEWALL.GAM

The list contains lots of action and some puzzle/mind games.
It's not mixed like the first collection, so only HEXAPOIN, SUMITUP, NED-HELI and TRADER
are not joystick wreckers. It contains also my first (finished) game ever UNTIL-0
and a 2-player game KARATE.

But even in the action games there are some differences.
There are shooting games like: MOSQUITO, SLOPSLAP, DUCKSHOT and KLEIDUIF.
Platform games like: SUPERLA, CAVERN, JACKJUMP, THELIFT, ASTRO, HORROR, STARJET and THEWALL.
Don't know how to name the category of the rest of the action games like: DIPSHIT, CLOWN and CRAZY-G.

I tried to change each of these games according the 5 rules I mentioned in the first
release of the 112 MSX Basic Games 112 til 100:

1) an intro displaying the title of the game
2) short introduction about the story in the game
3) short howto play and which controls will work
4) saving a highscore during playing the game
5) should stop nicely after CTRL-STOP or other mentioned key.
6) the difficulty should be increased during playing

But sometimes I forgot 5) or didn't how to apply 6) into the game.
I hope you don't mind and play these games anyway, they really deserve it.
Have a lot of fun !!

Mediafire  / Pcloud

NB: I don't own the book in the picture, but lot of my MSX Basic games came from books like this and lots of magazines. Of course some were downloaded from Viditel sites and MSX-BBSes (maybe I will post something about this period, this was all before everybody had internet and e-mail).

112 MSX Basic Games presents: THEWALL.GAM (79)

I wil release the next disk with all 112 games until 80 soon, but first I want to let you show this MSX-2 game THEWALL.GAM.
You could say it's plays a lot like Tetris, but the computer does some dirty tricks
to stop you from getting any score.
You have to move your sprite from left to right to avoid the falling blocks and get
on the high wall to fly away with the air balloon.

The name THEWALL stands for the Berlin Wall and this game is about helping people escape with the air balloon, while the Berlin Wall is build.

Not all part are MSX-2 only, only the main game. So the game has very playable speed
and looks good at the same time. Maybe a better programmer could make an MSX-1 Basic only version, I think it's a waste of my time.

I have seen other Tetris look-a-like games made in MSX-Basic, but as I said before in my 112 MSX-Basic games list, I dont want just another Pacman or Tetris clone.
It should be more original than giving it a different name, like Happer or Crunchman...

Mediafire / Pcloud

NB: This game was made by a Dutchie and the overal theme is a bit strange.

112 MSX Basic Games presents: STARJET.GAM (80)

Here is another action game and it's totally made in MSX Basic only !!!
I know it's just another "DON'T HIT THE WALLS" game, but the response on the cursorkeys and joystick is fast enough to make it playable, it has 7 levels and it sabes your best score.
That is not bad at all...

It took me a while before I found out how to complete a level, cause there were no instructions. I looked in the listing and lucky for me the programmer had left some Dutch comments here and there.
With this info and playing more than 10 times I was able to create instructions and modified some layouts to make them better and...
I found out there were 2 ways to play it, a sort of Campagne mode and a Test mode.

The programmer forgot to let the player choose, that's why I added a menu to let the player choose between the Campagne mode, which means you have to play all levels one after another with only 3 JETS. And the Test mode, just to find out the best way to succeed.
Only if you choose the Campagne mode you can get a highscore, well that makes sense...

The goal is to get to the white dot first and go back to the yellow F, without hitting anything with your STARJET. If you do the opposite you must start the level all over again.

I hope you like this simple game as much as me. It's 1 player only, but if you ae better than the highscore, the game will ask for your name and will remember if you keep playing it.

112 MSX Basic Games presents: TRADER.GAM (81)

I was already working on this one in 2016, but because the translations messed around with the GFX, I had to trial and error a lot before it looked fine after translation.

That was not all, the original game didnt end before one of the player had earned 100 dollar.
All players start with 50 and I found out it took at least more than 20 rounds to complete the game.
So I  kept on trying until I could configure the game by let the player(s) choose how many rounds they wanna play.

At least 5, otherwise it's more luck than being smart
to win the game.
The game is called TRADER.GAM with a good reason.
With 2 dices you must decide if you buy/sell shares or
let the rate of the shares go up or down.

You can play with max 3 players, but beware if you dont fill in a name and let MSX join the game.
MSX hates to loose and I am not sure it doesnt fool around with those dices...You have been warned !!!

There are plenty of those decision making games on MSX, most of them are text-only and this one has a nice GFX interface. One of the reasons I picked this one out.
The other reason was the playability.

Happy New Year ! (the MSX part)

I just wanted also this year a MSX part with the subject "Happy New Year", but I have to say it's getting harder every year to think something new and fresh.

This was nothing more than a ad-hoc idea I got when I was busy with collecting New Years songs (see my other post).
I used the demo for titlemaker (from a previous uploaded disk ToolZ and DemoZ part C), changed the texts and created 2 screens instead of one.
That's it, nothing more. No audio and no animation. Just plain MSX-1 Basic. And I uploaded it to YouTube.
Check it out. I speedup my BlueMSX emulator when I recording it, so you don't have to wait so long to see the titles being generated.
But I'm pretty sure if I change the listing in a Turbo-Basic/Kun compiler version, the speed will be the same as in the video.

Tot download this little demo:  Mediafire / Pcloud

I hope this little demo will be the start of a yearly tradition to create MSX demo's with NEw Year's greetings.
The Best Wishes for 2017, till next year !!!

Happy New Year ! (the Music part)

I wish you a happy new year and I give you the first part of my New Year song-collection, which I collected together with a enormous amount of Christmas songs.
In my opinion a good New Year song can be happy, sad, aggressive or funny, so I had plenty tracks to choose from.
I ran out of time, so the mp3 tags are incomplete or not completly missing. Sorry about that.
For this 2017 edition I give you the songs ordered in different music-genres, so we have Dance, Rock, Rap, Instrumental, Folk and Pop. I was hoping I could create a sad playlist for New Years Eve and a happy playlist for New Years Day.
Well maybe next year, cause I got the idea a little too late...

I created one big ZIP file, I hope you don't mind. Hopefully the volumes in the songs are okay, cause this is also sometimes I had to do if I had more time.
So if you want the hear lots of alternative songs on New Years Eve or Day, download this ZIP, you won't  be disappointed...

Xmas 2016: Just 1 Xmas music link

It's already Christmas if you are reading this, but I wish you Happy Xmas to you all anyway.
I was busy preparing a nice playlist of all kinds of Xmas music from the 1 of more than 50 CD-Rs I made years ago, but I run out of time to post it before Christmas.

Well I am not so disappointed I didnt make it on time, cause while I was listening to the tracks from the CD-R and to Sky Radio
(The Christmas -Radio-Station) I noticed the 3 differences between good and bad Christmas songs.

1) A Christmas song must give you a happy feeling
2) Giving a random song the name Christmas makes it no Christmas song
3) Sang or play a famous song exactly as others is only fun for your fans

And looking back at the songs I selected from my first CD-R, only a few could stay on the list if I checked the songs on these 3 rules.
So I dont try to finish the list today, but give you the link to a website with very different Christmas radiostations (and a lot more). They only play Xmas music that conform these rules ealier mentioned.

Here is the link: http://www.accuradio.com/christmas-music/

Xmas 2016: More MSX Xmas games feat. Xmasman

I promised more  MSX Xmas games, so here is Xmasman (or in Dutch: Kerstman) !!!

But I had to hurry, cause it's almost christmas and I was still busy putting sound, music
and better controls...
Sorry only a couple of beeps this time, I couldnt insert the sounds and music and still be able to post it before christmas, however it has better controls than the original and it's easier to see how far you are in the game.
It's a memory game with a nice xmas twist, you have to remember the 2 presents you don't see behind Xmasman sleigh.There are 10 rounds, each more presents to remember and you get for each round just 2 tries. It's not so easy as it looks !!!

I wanna thank Jeroen Overvoorde, who made this nice MSX-2 Basic game in 1986.
Yes, it's a MSX-2 game only and runs in SCREEN 8.
The game was published by MSX Club Belgie Nederland on one of their disks.

 Downloading from: MEDIAFIRE / PCLOUD

NB 1: I like the simply but colorfull backgrounds the game generates itself, just look at the screenshots.
NB2 : Maybe I will add some sounds and music later, but even without these it's a good looking, very playable MSX Basic game.

Xmas 2016: More MSX Xmas games feat. Xmas Quarrel

I already post about MSX Xmas games like Penguin Adventure of Konami and The Snowman of Quicksilva, both commercial released games. But what about all those MSX users who's programs were published on (disk-)magazines, listingbooks ? I tried to find some "home-made" MSX Xmas games, but there are just a few. Would it be a great idea if some big MSX website makes a yearly competition of creating new MSX Xmas games.
Well ?

I started my search on the Millenium CDs of MCM, the Dutch Magazine and lucky for me I found 2 Xmas MSX games on the Clubmagazines of the Belgium MCM. My search is not over yet, but I doubt I can find more Xmas games in my MSX diskcollection...

So the here is the 2nd Xmas game I found, Xmas Quarrel and English title for a Dutch games. Yeah, we Dutch use English words a lot, cause they sound better than the Dutch ones.

Here is a short translation of the controls screen:

SPELER = PLAYER
TOETSENBORD = KEYBOARD

If you choose 2 players with keyboard, the 2nd player had
to use w-a-s-z and shift

SPELER 1: DRUK EEN CIJFER = PLAYER 1: PRESS 1, 2 or 3

Xmas Quarrel is a 2-player game only, so you cant compete again your MSX.  It's a kind of a early PvP game,
like Vortex Raider of Eurosoft with snowmans throwing snowballs at eachother.
Funny, a Xmas fighting game, while real Xmas meaning is totally the opposite...

Again MSX Games World suprises me nicely, so here you can Download and play (Run) it.  Grab your annoying nephew
and show him who is King Snowman.

MSX Xmas game 2016: The Snowman

Almost I year ago I post the best MSX Xmas game evere made, Penguin Adventure.
And I was sure that there was no other MSX game that had also thart Xmas style.
Until I searched for MSX Xmas demo on YouTube And found a serie of 4 gameplays of...
It's a very old (1984) platform-game from Quicksilva, but with nice looking sprites
fast game play and a little bit falling snow makes it a fun game to play.
Check out the animation if you loses a life...

I know a snowman is not really part of Xmas culture, but do you remember songs like "Frosty the Snowman" and "Let it Snow" ?
That's why I declare "The Snowman" as a MSX Xmas game.

You can "Download" and or "Run" it online at the www.msxgamesworld.com website, so this time no waiting for Mediafire or Pcloud downloads.

And if you are a bit lazy, watch the playlist Penko Tia made.

More Xmas posts will be there noon...

Xmas 2016: The MSX-1 Xmas demo I searched for a long time

I was busy thinking about Xmas and this blog and to me there is not enough Xmas demo's in the MSX-scene. You have to count the snowfalls and open fire demo's to it to get some.
Every year there should be new MSX Xmas demo's made, just to let everybody know MSX is still alive.

Well my search for MSX Xmas demo's brought me to the MCM archive to number 35 with some open fire listings in it,
I browsed through the pages of the PDF and there it was !!!

The listing I was searching for year after year !
I guess I missed it in my MSX disk-collection, cause it had such a common name, KERST (the Dutch word for XMAS).

In the same issue there was a Christmas song called WEWISH and the author of the magazine wrote that it would be nice if WEWISH put together with KERST to get a nice MSX-1 Xmas demo with animation and music.
That was a good idea, so I thought about it a lot and came with a solution that was not perfect, but does the job.

I noticed the animation could use some more speed and playing music at the same time, would ruin the animation completly. So I inserted the music between the animated screens.

Every demo has an intro which has its name and makers in it, this demo hadn't.
Real shame, cause I liked the little animations a lot. Again I thought hard and wrote in a notebook how it should look like, with (of course) a little animation.

My drawing skills are not that good and SCREEN 2 colorspill doesn't help a lot, but I created an intro that I think fits the demo very well.
Finally I changed also the name of the demo from KERST(WENS) to XMASWISH.BAS, so you will see the differences between the original and my modified version.

If you think you are waiting too long, you can press 1 key to go to the next part.
There is an intro and 3 other parts, so it's a short demo.

I also uploaded a video of the XMASWISH demo to YouTube to show that even in MSX-1 Basic you can make a Xmas demo with some animation.
You can see it here.

You can download the XMASWISH listing at: Mediafire / Pcloud

More Christmas posts are on its way, so watch out !

MSX Google: week 47, 2016

Recently I found 3 MSX sites that seemed to be forgotten...

The first one is some MSX pages are from http://andrear.altervista.org/home/msxsoftware.php  with some interesting info, some outdated and a couple downloads with games and demo's. Sadly it's only 1 page.

The second one is a sort of FTP-server with a MSX Archive, mostly in Spanish, called: http://msx2.me/

Lots of scans of MSX magazines and books, even complete mirrors of other MSX  archives !!!
Not all is available anymore, still worthy to browse a couple of hours here.

The lost one is an early MSX web-shop, if you choose English as language you get a lot of errors. Don't worry the site hyperlinks still work. Best parts are MSX Music (remakes/remixes of famous MSX game-music) and Downloads.

Check out the remake of F1-Spirit, it runs even on Windows 10 perfectly. The graphics, the music, the sound, it's just a little better than the original and it gives me still the same feeling when I played the original on my MSX computer. What more can you ask from a remake ? I can only say DOWNLOAD IT BEFORE THE SITE
IS GONE FOREVER !!!

TnC Collected works : TnC ToolZ DemoZ Disk Part E

To end this serie of disks:

After I had almost finished part D, I found more stuff I could not include, cause the disk was already full.

If you have a couple of uncompressed pictures on MSX disks, you know what I mean...

So there was a dilemma, forget it, create a Part E or include them on the first SoundZ DemoZ Disk Vol 1 ?

What was left over filled almost an entire MSX disk,
so I choose to make a Part E.

Part E contains fractal pictures, a Nemesis 2 intro demo (completely made in MSX-2 Basic) and a couple small programs.
With Part F the series of disks with tools and demos has ended, however I have some demos left and together with some musicfiles and soundtools I already busy collecting and modifying these for the new SoundZ and DemoZ serie disks.

Until then have fun with Part E.

All screenshots  are from programs of this disk.
So get your gear at Mediafire or Pcloud.

GameMusic tapes: Press PLAY to START tape 1

On this tape you find no Pinball Sounds or Racing Tracks, just all kind of PC-games with CD-audio. Probably the strangest mix I ever recorded on cassette, every genre is possible.
So I get never bored when I listen to these tapes. To be honest after so many years I dont like all tracks anymore. My taste of music has somehow changed.

Side A: https://www.mixcloud.com/TnC_tapes/press-play-to-start-tape-1-side-a/
Side B: https://www.mixcloud.com/TnC_tapes/press-start-to-play-tape-1-side-b/

I still like the title of the serie "Press PLAY to START", it fits very well.
And if you dont like the tape, you can allways buy a book with the same title...
Here: http://www.johnjosephadams.com/press-start-to-play/

GameMusic Tapes: CD-ROM Racing Tracks Volume 1

The title says it all, Racing music, so lot of up tempo stuff. Ideal for long road-trips.
Well, not like this...
At mixcloud you find some comments about where the music came from and more.

I am still suprised that after so many years, the tapes (in general) still sound like they
were recorded yesterday. Well, they are NOT ! But I can't tell you when, my best guess
is during the mid 90s.

Side A: https://www.mixcloud.com/TnC_tapes/cd-rom-racing-tracks-volume-1-side-a/

Side B: https://www.mixcloud.com/TnC_tapes/cd-rom-racing-tracks-volume-1-side-b/

Right now, I am not sure I will upload every Racing Tracks tape I made, I have still other tapes that might be also interesting to upload...
Check out https://www.mixcloud.com/TnC_tapes/ for more tapes from my past
(and maybe yours too...)

GameMusic Tapes: CD-ROM Pinball Sounds 1

There is not much to talk about this tape, I uploaded side A and B to mixcloud with some additional info in the comments.

So this time I will say something about the Pinball Sounds serie in general,  there were in total 4 tapes made with CD-audio from lot of Pinball games made in the 90s.

I remember that some Pinball games were just Commodore Amiga 500 ports.
Like this one, above...

And I bought mostly 3/4/5 packs of cassettes from companies that made (according to me) the best cassettes in the world, like Sony, TDK, Fuij and BASF.
I had a couple good white label cassettes like Turbo, but couldnt find any info on the net yet...
Funny enough the inventor of the compact cassette, Philips, made the worst tapes
(but I found out too late).

Listen to side A: https://www.mixcloud.com/TnC_tapes/cd-rom-pinball-sounds-1a/
Listen to side B: https://www.mixcloud.com/TnC_tapes/cd-rom-pinball-sounds-1-side-b/

All tapes contain music of the 90s, so lot of electronics, rock and less house, pop...

GameMusic Tapes: An Introduction

Well, instead I go on with the TnC GameMusic Collection I decided to introduce a slightly different series of Posts. Again with GameMusic, featuring tapes I made many years ago.
I was very fond of playing Pinball and Race games on my PC and noticed during playing by accident that the music I heard came from the CD-ROM directly, cause the CD-ROM kept spinning while playing the music. So I put a CD-ROM in my CD-player, skipped data track 1
and listen to the music tracks I never heard before. Then decided to check all the PC-games I had collected over years for CD-audio tracks, cause that is what they were called.
In the end I got so games with CD-audio, I started to record the best tracks on tapes so
I could listen to them on my Sony walkman. Yeah, it was before mp3 became famous.
I created 3 types of tapes with CD-audio, Race games, Pinball games and all other PC-games I could find. After recording more than 24 tapes I stopped, but still there were PC-games with great music but no CD-audio, so I ripped a lot or browsed the net to find those OSTs, converted to 1 format mp3 (192 kbps) and burned a lot of CD-Rs and DVD-Rs.
I believed I made more than 100 CD-Rs and 50 DVD-Rs. Don't worry I wont upload them all or post about every CD-R/DVD-R...
About the music you find on the tapes a very strange mix with different music-genres,
house, hard-rock, swing, rock n roll, boogie-woogie, techno, electronica, cross-over, disco, and plenty more. I always searched for a up-tempo track to start the tape and to reduce the switching of the CD-ROMs  in my CD-player I tried to record 2 tracks of the same game one after another.

I found an interesting website about (new) GameMusic, check this on: http://www.vgmonline.net/ or remixes of famous GameMusic, check: https://ocremix.org/
Lookinmg OSTs of older games, check here: http://downloads.khinsider.com/

Wanna see a strange shop where you still can purchase TDK tapes: https://www.duplication.ca/shop/TDK-SA-90.html  or a complete catalogue of manufacturers of compact cassettes: http://www.c-90.org/catalogue/tapes

112 MSX Basic Games presents: NED-HELI.GAM (82)

I know, I know, Radarsoft made perfect commercial Topografic games for the MSX-1 and 2, but hey, this game THE NETHERLANDS PER HELI shows you dont need ML to create a fast game on MSX.

I got some trouble with translation and tried to make it easy for all to understand how the game works.

Why this game about cities in the Netherlands ?

Well, if you ever visit the Netherlands and you must travel to one city to another, it can be very helpfull if you know where it lies (or at least which direction you must go). Cause not every "big" city will be listed on the trafficsigns...

I like how the introscreen and the instructions were made and the gameplay is very challenging. I dare you the get all levels !

Google week 42, 2016

While I was search for some scary pictures from MSX games, I got 2 websites full of MSX games I never heard of (well most of them) and some are even free to download !

So without any warning, here is: http://www.icongames.com.br/msxfiles/maine.htm

 PS: search for Rare Games...

And the next one, called: http://imanok.msxblue.com/games.html

Both sites wil keep you MSXing until it's spring again !!!

Happy Halloween : MSX Horror Games update

Just after completing the post with the Harror games list, I found a couple more MSX games that absolutly should be on the list as well.
I'm talking about (in random order):

* Dead of the Brain
* Predator
* Tetra Horror
* Shiro To Kuro Densetsu
* Laplace No Ma
* Blinky Scary School

Yeah, there were more scary MSX games then I ever imagined. If you leave a comment I will prepare an update batch of MSX Horror Games.

Until then...have fun google these titles, some of theme have complete webpages from hardcore fans.

Happy Halloween : MSX Horror Games list

It all started when I googled "MSX Horror" and got on a page of the forum of MSX.org, where somebody asked the community for MSX Horror themed games.

Between lot of unnecessary comments, there were some titles of MSX games listed.
I decided to create an alfabetic list and after that I decided collect these
(with some additional titles by myself).

That was not so easy, some titles were only known with their Japanse titles and some websites with MSX files are vanished. So I had to look for others instead.

Most of the games on the list came from a nice website completly dedicated to MSX Games, called http://www.msxgamesworld.com others came from
an unexpected good French emulator site called: http://www.planetemu.net/
When the search was over I had 4 different MSX file-formats with 3 different compress-methodes. I got .PMA .LZH .ZIP files and when decompressed I got .ROM .DSK .CAS and .BIN, not very handy.
I search again now for the 3 best known formats for MSX emulators, .CAS, .ROM and .DSK.

So hereby I presents: The MSX Halloween Games Collection 2016

* Alien 2 ROM
* Aliens CAS/DSK
* Alien Syndrome CAS
* Chiller CAS
* Chima Chima CAS/DSK
* Demonia ROM
* Dracula CAS
* Ghost Busters CAS/DSK
* Ghost Busters 2 CAS/DSK
* Ghost House ROM
* Gremlins 2 CAS/DSK
* Haunted House ROM/DSK
* Haunted Mansion DSK
* Invasion of the Zombie Monsters ROM
* Kikikaikai ROM
* Little Vampire DSK/DSK/DSK
* Mad Mix CAS/DSK
* Mad Mix II CAS
* Mon Mon Monster ROM/ROM
* Mr. Ghost DSK/ROM

I put these in 1 big zip-file at Mediafire and Pcloud (if this is still illegal then I am sorry and will remove the links).
I didnt test these games, cause I use blueMSX emulator only and I dont know which one other people are using. If it dont work, you always can google for an other version and let me know where you find it.

Happy Halloween on your MSX computer !!!

NB: I know Shit is a Pacman game, but this cover fits very good for Halloween.

112 MSX Basic Games presents: SUMITUP.GAM (83)

After a serie of action games. Here is another mind game.
The Dutch name was SPROKKELEN, which was hard to translate, sort of collect things. But a game called COLLECT is very boring so I had to think very hard before I came up with the title SUMITUP.

It was not the only setback I had with this game. It seems I downloaded it from a Videotex page with MSX software and at the end there was a nasty bug that cause the MSX to reset.
So I saved the listing in ASCII and deleted the corrupted lines of code.

Then the next problem appeared, the description was made partial in SCREEN 2,
I had to be very carefull with the words I wanted to use, otherwise it wont fit in the screen.
And that was not all, joystick controls were hard to build in, sometimes the game didnt registrate the firebutton. It took me 2 evenings to find an solution.

Was it worth the effort ?
Yes, I believe so, you can play with 2 players or against the computer. I suggest you play against another person, cause the computer is nearly unbeatable.
I forgot what this game SUMITUP is all about. Well, you must get more points than your opponent, by selecting a number every turn until all numbers are gone.

I like the game, cause it's has a good explanation, good GFX design and very playable.
It really deserve a place in the 112 list.

112 MSX Basic Games presents: ASTRO RESCUE (86)

Once I bought a Dutch MSX listingbook with lot of nice true Basic games, which were a bit converted from an earlier TRS-80 listingbook. Most of these games had original animated  sprites, fast enough gameplay and colorfull backgrounds.
And ASTRO RESCUE is no exception to this. When I had typed it in, I was really into the SOUND command, so I created a couple of soundeffects to make the game more enjoyable (or more annoying I dont know).

For the 112 MSX Basic Games collection, I only had to translate it and add more controls
to it. The game itself is quite simple, you have to rescue the people at the other side of
the screen, without being hit by alien spaceships.
Not so easy, the game gets more difficult every time you managed to rescue 1 human.

Have some fun with this ASTRO RESCUE game at Mediafire & Pcloud

AS you can see no more Gavitex, cause they changed the login and now I cant get in, WTH GAVITEX I LOST ALL MY UPLOADS !!!
